The 3G Uphill position specifically refers to the process where the weld is performed by moving the electrode upward on the vertical plate. This qualification is evaluated using assessments and Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) & Practical training. To receive this qualification, the learner must pass both tests with a certain percentage.

The qualification has recommended course duration of 4-5 days.
Note: However the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.

4. Skill Level: 3G uphill welding requires a higher level of skill due to the challenges of vertical welding. Operators must be proficient in controlling the weld pool and making necessary adjustments to heat input and travel speed.
