Welder Position 3G Up Hill Materials Specification 12mm Thick Plate, Welding Process MMAW & GMAW
This course is designed to train welders in the 3G uphill welding position on 12mm thick plates using Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes. Students will develop skills in proper joint preparation, electrode selection, and maintaining arc stability for high-quality welds. Emphasis is placed on managing heat input, ensuring strong penetration, and preventing common welding defects like porosity and undercutting. The course integrates practical welding sessions with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and workplace hazard management. Participants will learn how to inspect their work and test welds to meet quality standards. Hands-on experience with MMAW and GMAW processes will prepare students to tackle 3G uphill welding in various industrial applications. The course also focuses on developing proficiency in welding thick materials, a vital skill in structural and fabrication industries. Graduates will be well-prepared for certification and can pursue roles in construction, shipbuilding, and heavy machinery industries.
This qualification is evaluated using assessments and Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) & Practical training. To receive this qualification, the learner must pass both tests with a certain percentage.
The qualification has recommended course duration of 4-5 days.
Note: However the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.
